“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The second amendment to the United States Constitution.

“Right to Keep and Bear Arms: Every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear arms in the lawful defense of himself or the State; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms, with a view to prevent crime.” Article 1, section 23 of the Texas Constitution.

In 1994, Texas citizens approved a nonbinding resolution asking the state to grant Texans the right to carry concealed handguns. Gov. Ann Richards had vetoed such a bill prior to the vote and vowed that no such bill would pass while she was governor. By contrast, her opponent in the race for governor--George W. Bush--said that if elected he would sign an appropriately structured "right-to-carry" law. Bush won the election and on May 26, 1995, signed a law granting Texans the right to carry concealed handguns. When he did so, Texas joined 30 other states that had made it legal to carry concealed handguns.

As of Dec. 31, 2015, there were 937,419 Active License Holders and 3,458 Certified Instructors, according to the Texas D.P.S. website.

We offer, to qualified citizens of the State of Texas (and other states), License to Carry training by D.P.S. Certified Instructors. Serving the Conroe and surrounding areas including, but not limited to: Conroe, Willis, Panorama, Cut-N-Shoot, Montgomery, The Woodlands, Spring, Porter, New Caney, Splendora, Cleveland and all points in between!

In receiving a license to carry for lawful self-defense, you are undertaking a great responsibility.

I am sure you share my hope that you will never find it necessary to use a weapon in self-defense. If you do, the law will protect you only if you have acted within the law. Those who are choosing to arm themselves with weapons should, therefore, be armed with the most indispensable weapon of all; knowledge.
